Learning the Correct Brainwave Techniques to Improve Behaviour

January 3, 2009 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

You may think that your brain determines your actions day in day out, and you’d be half right. Did you know that you have the ability to tell your brain what it should do so as to influence your actions in turn? Most of us go through life letting our subconscious mind dictate how we act and shape our mindsets. How we behave, how we react to situations and our overall attitudes are actually products of your cerebral cortex and neurons in the brain sending specific messages in the form of electromagnetic pulses that affect everything that has to do with our psyche - how we perceive things, how we react to certain situations, etc. Feeling nervous before a presentation is the product of the horror stories of public speaking ingrained into your subconscious mind, which in turn results in an instinctual fear and nervousness as you stand before your audience. Would you believe it if someone told you that you can control your brain waves with specific traditional and scientific techniques - reprogram your subconscious mind to improve behaviour.

It’s very possible to change everything about yourself, be it your behaviour or even your outlook on life. All you have to do is to set your brainwaves to a frequency that slips you into a deep meditative state - a state that allows you to go beyond your physical consciousness and transcending into a higher plane of existence: the subconscious. Spiritual luminaries do this all the time, the state of complete and total relaxation allows them to find inner peace - even in the most hectic of situations. Sumo wrestlers in Japan achieve the same state to make their body forget about pain and control their anger during a brawl. Meditation and hypnosis is also a tried and true method practitioners use to reduce stress in peoples lives. Even doctors and the scientific community understand the potential of the mind and the potential of a changed mindset and attitude in the healing process. A happier and more optimistic person will always heal better because depression is one of the leading causes of physical depreciation.

Achieving this deep relaxed state easily is possible through the use of binaural beats - frequency engineered sounds introduced to the mind through music. The differing frequencies are sculptured to create a cortical response from the brain - which means it creates a specific frequency response that is associated with the very brain waves that can slip the mind into a meditative state. Magnetic fields passed over the temporal and frontal lobe also do the same thing. Technology like the Shakti - headgear that introduces these very same magnetic fields to invoke a brain wave response.

There are various other methods that will allow you to achieve the same effect, both scientific and traditional/spiritual, but be warned, it is more difficult to achieve but the results have been said to be just as effective. Flotation tanks, soothing music, yoga - these are just some of the methods that people are using to gain a deep meditative state to reprogram their subconscious and improve their behaviour.

Take control of your life and remove whatever fear, inertia, mis-ambition or any negative behaviour that may be affecting your life, your social circles and your career. Be the captain of your own life and steer yourself to your own success - all by learning the correct brainwave techniques to improve behaviour.

The title may bring about a perplexed reaction to many readers at first glance. It’s about a tried and tested technique that has skyrocketed from having pockets of believers in select countries to a revolution that now spans the globe and takes the form of a billion dollar a year industry. It’s about self improvement and the use of techniques and technology to take control of the brain and unleash its fullest potential so that the mind benefits you. The fact is, such techniques have been used to rectify behaviourial problems, alter outlooks on life, and even treating medical conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and other mental conditions; brain stimulation is big business because it works and this article is all about Binaural beats and how it is a subconscious technique that can help you improve your mindset.

Being around for 200 years has helped this technology develop and be perfected by the finest minds in modern medicine and psychology. Binaural beats’ main objective is to use the power of sound and frequency to produce a reaction within the brain and trigger brain wave changes in the listener. It follows the same concept as deep meditation - a method commonly utilised by religious figures from all over the world. Once you achieve that state of relaxation, your subconscious mind is freed and able to accept new information and reconditioning. Outlooks and mindsets that have been ingrained in your subconscious as a process that springs from your youth and the formative years can be slowly turned to a direction that can bring about success and an improvement in your life.

A combination of scientifically proven techniques - such as visual aids, hypnosis, biofeedback, and group regression - when used with the aid of binaural beats will be a winning formula for anyone looking to change their lives. Be the master and commander of your ship once again and know the freedom of the open seas that is life. This method of mediation will only take but moments of your time on a daily basis and all the equipment you need is a music player, some headphones and a quiet, undisturbed corner of wherever you might be.

Take the time to learn about the forms of brainwaves and how these beats can help you trigger a particular set. From alpha to theta waves, each has a different function and effect within the brain. You can finally have control over your own emotions; the mind can be told what to do and when to do it, making it a powerful tool for anyone looking to turn their lives around.

This is not unlike the ancient methods of meditation and you can be assured that the results are similar or even better (with the help of more advanced technology) than the arcane and unproven methods of years ago. The applications are endless for you and for a small price, you will be given the basic tools to have complete control over your own psyche, from heart to soul. Be a part of a growing population of people who have decided to be in complete control of their fate and destiny, plotting the course of their life how they want it and reaching the goal of success that much faster.

Covert Hypnosis Can Be Used As a Treatment For Anxiety and Stress

December 25, 2008 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

Stress and anxiety more and more are playing a massive role in our life these days. Stress can be easily triggered by a relationship dificulty, not making enough money, or just sitting in traffic every morning. Covert hypnosis anxiety techniques can assist people in getting the most out of their lives by becoming less anxious, less stressed and more open to life and its possibilities.

Covert Hypnosis, also known as conversational hypnosis or neuro-linguistic programming has become a buzz word amongst psychologists, motivational speakers, within the wellness industry and all over the world in homes and offices. Covert hypnosis is basically having a conversation with a person’s sub-conscious, using language patterns and body language to alert the sub-conscious to an underlying message or key phrase whilst the person is fully awake as well as unaware. Covert hypnosis anxiety techniques are exactly this, with the underlying message being that the person needs to relax.

When in a hypnotic state via covert hypnosis anxiety techniques, we are almost in a dreamlike state where we are more in touch with our sub-conscious, which is the gateway to our feelings. What better position to be in to manipulate our emotive state into a more positive, less anxious and stress free condition.

By using these covert hypnosis anxiety techniques, you can completely overcome anxiety and stress related issues. You can do this either by administering it yourself, with the help of an audio cd or cassette, or by visiting someone who knows how to practice conversational hypnosis. If you are intending to do it yourself, audio cd’s are a brilliant way to carry this out, as you can do it in the comfort of your own home and in your own time.

When it comes to stress and anxiety, one thing can be confirmed: that we are responsible for a large portion of the way that we feel because of the way that we think. Often life can become stressful, but we make it worse by worrying and concerning ourselves with negative outcomes instead of focusing on the positive. Covert hypnosis anxiety techniques are a brilliant source of help in this case as they can completely change the manner in which we think. If focus is diverted from the stress trigger and the symptomatic responce to this, we can ultimately find a solution and free ourselves from the stress. Conversational hypnosis has helped thousands of people with this common dilemma.

It is estimated that between 75 and 90% of all visits to hypnotists and conversational hypnosis specialists are for the treatment of stress and anxiety. In this day and age there has never been a more desperate need for covert hypnosis anxiety techniques to assist people in living normal, happy lives. Coping with life would be a much more manageable and enjoyable task when armed with the correct approach.

Is Workplace Stress Affecting Your Job Performance?

December 25, 2008 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

Workplace stress is as inevitable as death and taxes. Most people will experience stress in the work place on a regular basis. Some occupations have high levels of stress associated with them. Health care and law enforcement workers, for example, experience daily stress as a part of their everyday working life. Workplace stress can be reduced by identifying those situations which trigger it and reducing your exposure to those situations.

Common workplace stress triggers include:

Co-workers with bad attitudes

Most of us have had to deal with rude co-workers at one time or another. Having to be exposed to that rudeness can be stressful for anyone, making their job performance suffer needlessly.

There is a lot of be said for ignoring problem persons. Most of the behaviors we find irritating are just that, irritating, but not devastating. Learning to accept the annoying behaviors of others as out of your realm of influence and unworthy of response is crucial to your ability to perform your job’s duties.

If this tactic doesn‘t work, try discussing the problem with them directly. There are times when they may be unaware of the way their attitude comes across to others. An open and honest conversation can be a simple solution that brings down the stress level immediately.

If direct confrontation does help quell the bad behaviors contact you supervisor. State your complaints in writing in a formal tone. Make sure to explain what behaviors are bothering you and how they are affecting your work performance. Try to avoid emotional pleas and high temper complaints. Remain factual and offer supporting information and your superior will most likely side with you and assist in rectifying the situation.

Bad Management

Maybe your nasty cube-mate isn’t the problem but your horribly demanding manager is. Tolerating a boss who’s unfair or belligerent can send your stress level through the roof. Try discussing your issues with him or her before taking any further action to remedy the problem.

|If direct discussion with your supervisor proves ineffective, the next step is to approach the next level of management. Document the inappropriate behavior you have witnessed or personally experienced and report it to someone in human resources or follow the appropriate channels for your company.

There’s no reason to have to put up with that at the workplace when it’s not warranted. It’ll cause too much stress for you and make your job performance slide. Most companies will work with you to resolve the problem.

Assignment Overload

Trying to manage an unreasonable workload will certainly cause a lot of anxiety. Accept only the amount of work that you can deal with in a given period of time. Take any assistance offered by co-workers and return the favor when they need help. Working together can have far reaching rewards.

Stress in the workplace can come from many other sources as well. Learn what causes your stress and find out how to work through it. Your workplace can be a stressful environment, but don’t let that stress get the best of you.

Improving Your Skills For Success

December 11, 2008 by Jorge Olson · Leave a Comment

Improving Your Skills for Success

There are many areas of skills - general skills that you can look into to improve and attract success. I am here to tell you some of the skills you can look into to improve yourself and put you on the road to personal success.

Project the voice of success! Articulate clearly, express yourself in a confident and authoritative manner, be it to an audience of 1 or of thousands; this is crucial if you want to convince people of your success. Be more comfortable, more confident, and more attractive to be around. Being able to speak effectively means you can sell anything - products, of course, but also ideas, ideologies, worldviews.

If success depends of effective action, effective action depends on the ability to focus your attention where it is needed most, when it is needed most. In order to keep focused on the important things, you will need to have strong organizational skills, a strong sense of discipline, and a firm effective sense of productivity. The bridge that leads from analysis to action is effective decision-making - knowing what to do based on the information available. You need to find a balance between being overly analytical and not being analytical at all. Indecisiveness is a definite hindrance that you should avoid having as a habit. Being able to take in the scene and respond quickly and effectively is what separates the doers from the wannabes.

Pen with the hands of the successful! Writing well offers many of the same advantages that speaking well offers: good writers are better at selling products, ideas, and themselves than poor writers. Given the huge amount of text generated by almost every transaction - from court briefs and legislation running into the thousands of pages to those foot-long receipts you get when you buy gum these days - a person who is a master of the written word can expect doors to open in just about every field.

I think before we can discuss all this is the simple fact that to improve yourself comes from an inherent desire to improve and a desire to want to change for the better. Don’t look back into the past and what it has done or not done for you but always look to the future. Try to get yourself out of the rut through positive thinking and keep reminding yourself that all this work is for an objective - an objective that will allow you to tap into your potential and be the person that you have always dreamed of.

This is by no means an admonishment for you to register for some exorbitantly priced self-improvement course. Anyone can do this and normally the effect is highly varied from those who do so because they want to and those who do them because they feel they need to or are listening to someone else. ‘Want’ is the big idea behind self improvement, because no matter how many doctors you visit, how many psychologists you seek advice from - it will all come to naught if you do not have a desire to turn your life around.

Activities Self Esteem Children

Effective Ways to Build Self-Esteem in Children

As parents, one of the main things we need to do is boost up and build our children’s self-esteem level. We need to teach our children to have a strong sense of self worth, both in themselves and in their talents. This can be difficult to do because as parents we need to give them ’space’ to find out certain things on their own and yet be there to guide them along the way too.

If we show a certain level of disinterest, giving them too much freedom, then that can lead to rebellion but if we are too strict, then that can also lead to problems and hinder them from developing independently.

Self-esteem can be encouraged and developed anytime in a persons life, that is why it’s always good to begin early with your children, so they will learn to trust in their abilities and talents. There are several things that parents can do to help develop a healthy self-esteem in their children.

1. Teach self-affirming statements

Have them stand in front of a mirror and say what a great person they are, or you can begin for them as they look at themselves in the mirror, until they get comfortable doing it by themselves. It may seem childish, but it works, and even some adults do it in order to boost their confidence for the upcoming day or event. You don’t even have to stick to the mirror process. Or you, can create your own as long as you stick to the basic, which is the saying words that are used in building self-esteem.

Create a mantra that your child can easily remember, one that goes to a familiar tune they already know. When they get up in the morning, you can sing the mantra to your child and have them sing one to you. The mantra should be about each other; such as saying I love you in the morning or telling each other how great the other is.

You can be creative, by showing your love and acceptance you can never go wrong. Feel free to come up with even more songs, or poems; as long as they encourage your child in what makes them so special.

2. The Positive Trait Game

Another activity that you can do with your child, that will not only boost their self-esteem, but also help in building his or her vocabulary, is the positive trait game. In this game, you will each tell each other the positive traits that one sees in the other. The catch is that the trait should start in a specific letter of the alphabet.

The positive trait game is a wonderful way to teach your kid to think positive thoughts and to acknowledge the traits and talents that make him or her unique. The more often you play this game together, the better chances they will always remember it and the good qualities they have, that they can be grateful for.

3. Do activities that they love

It is good to introduce new activities to them so they can find out which ones they enjoy and feel they are good at. One great way to do this, is through summer programs, where they have all kinds of things for kids to do. For instance, if he is good with drawing and crayons, it does not mean that he will not be good in music. It’s ok if they don’t like something at first, you may just need to encourage them to try it for a few more weeks to make sure.

Either way, if they really don’t want to continue, at least they were able to try something new and learn a little about it. Helping them discover the things that they love to do and the things that they are good at is a great way to boost your childs self esteem in the younger years of life. After all, when children are enjoying what they are doing, they become very enthusiastic and they are open to developing their skills further.

Discover the Five methods of finding personal happiness in life

December 7, 2008 by Jorge Olson · 3 Comments

A Secret To Happiness

Something that all of us want but does not come easily is happiness. Happiness is definitely that we may need to work on. We have to find ways to be able to learn happiness regardless of the things that happen in our lives. It really is something that we are able to do and able to do well. It is not necessary for us to worry about what other people may think because we only get a single chance to make the most of our lives and after all it is our life and not anyone else’s.

The Method

There are some methods that you can try so that you have all the happiness in life that you deserve. It is going to take some work and a lot of effort, but you can do it and once you see the way that you feel, you will know that it is worth it and that you have made the right choices in life.  Taking these methods into consideration is very important.  You need to make things work for you so that you are able to do well in life and to get all your goals achieved.

1. As human beings, a life without happiness is really meaningless. For happiness to be truly felt, we have to set goals. Once we have established the goals we want in life, then we will know what we want and will then have to figure ways in which to achieve those goals. We will need ways to make the things we want happen for us so that we will have what we deserve. We should make our lives special to us so that we will be able to feel happiness of completing an achievement. When goals are set in our lives and we move towards accomplishing them, we will have the feeling of happiness as we will have a meaning and a goal to reach for.

2. Second, we need to remember that we have to live for today. We need to make sure that we are using our best intentions and making the days that we have worthwhile. We need to of course think about our future and make sure that we are making the right choices so that we are safe and secure, but we also need to bring some fun to our life and to make sure that are succeeding in all our goals.

3. Another thought is to think about what would make us lose our happiness. What could happen in our lifetime that would make us feel badly about who we are and not be happy anymore?  These are things that we defiantly need to stay away from. We have to make sure that we are able to keep the negative things out of our life so that we are able to make good choices without risking looking our happiness. We need to make sure that we are able to make these things work for us and to continue to stay happy.

4. The fourth thing we have to ensure is that we are healthy in order for us to be happy. We should remain in good health and that we should make the right health choices to that we can stay happy and healthy regardless of what we do. We need to eat the right way and consider the food choices we make for our body. We should refrain from making choices that will cause us to be unhealthy and sick. We have to remove the negative things that affect us so that we stay in good mental health so that we are both physically and mentally happy at the same time.

5. The last thing we need you ensure is to keep the good feelings in our hearts and mind. We need to keep these feelings with us so that we are able to give it back to others when they need it. We should be pleasant and as much as possible try to be happy. The more pleasant we are will show to us that we will be able to stay happy and that we will be able to make others happy too. We should strive to make others happy and bring joy to them as this will give us a way to feel good about how we affect others. Do not let events take you down emotionally as we may unintentionally bring down others too.

These are great ideas for busy executives. Believe me; sometimes I feel my day is one big meeting.

This article by Dustin Wax gives 5 tips to use as alternative to meetings. I call it meeting planning. Yes, we need meetings, but sometimes people just want to meet for the sake of meeting. Or they want to meet to ask a question or two you already answered 10 times or to 10 different people.

-Instant Mesanging
-Teleconferencing
-Wiki’s
-Email Lists / Groups
-Collaboration Applications

My favorite is Collaboration Applications. I’ve worked with them for 10 years now and it saves me time in meetings and tasks. This way when someone asks for a meeting first they check their tasks in the collaboration software!

These are great alternatives… Read the article, it lists examples and has links to resources:  http://www.lifehack.org/articles/management/5-alternatives-to-time-wasting-meetings.html
