One letter a week
One idea, the numbers behind it and the sources, written by me on the operating side of whatever I am writing about. Consumer goods, Mexico, energy for data centers, early-stage AI, and the occasional stop on the road that got me here.
Form loads here once it is connected.
What you get
- One email a week. Usually under seven hundred words. If I have nothing worth your time that week, I skip it.
- An operator’s number in every issue. A cost per can, a connection wait in months, a founder’s gross margin. Things you do not get from a bank note.
- The sources. Every figure links to where it came from, with the date it was true.
- No pitch. The funds and companies I work with are described here as what I do. I will never use the letter to offer you an investment.
What you do not get
No sponsors, no affiliate links, no “quick question” follow-ups. Your email goes into my own list and nowhere else; see the privacy page. Unsubscribe is one click at the bottom of every issue.

The articles on this site are the long-form versions of what the letter covers, grouped by topic. Issues themselves are not archived publicly yet.
Can I reply?
Yes. Replies go to my inbox and I read them. It is also how reporters and event organizers reach me; see the media kit.
